Michael Reukauf was born in 1978 in Washington DC and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. From 1997 to 2001 Michael attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, where he studied Fine Arts with a focus in painting. Between his semesters in art school, he lived on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. Since art school Michael has spent time in the Portland, Oregon area, New York State, and he also resided in Philadelphia, PA. He has shown his art in various venues in Philadelphia, PA, Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, and Annapolis, MD. Michael currently lives and works in Santa Barbara, CA, where he is attracted to the climate, stimulated by the visuals, inspired by the light, and feels at home.
